New Boat Campaign

It is always exciting to be able to add to our already impressive number of boats, and we are thrilled to be in the position of needing to expand our fleet, thanks to each of you!!  That said, as you all know, boats aren't cheap, and each is a true investment in our success as a rowing club.  To that end, we are asking that each member consider chipping in to help us get this new boat paid off quickly!  Why?  Well, a few reasons…one, it’ll help us to have funds available for all of the other equipment and repair needs we inevitably need throughout the year while allowing us to keep our annual dues and membership fees lower than many other programs’ in the area.  Also, it means having the resources available to continue to grow and improve our fleet into the future (rather than continuing to pay off the fleet we currently have)!!  And, your donation is 100% tax-deductible!  Please consider donating today.
  • Meet your Match!!  To help up that ante, DC Strokes Board Members have committed to match up to $3,000 of all donations raised!!  Let's see if we can't meet (or exceed) our goal of raising $6,000 by August 7th!!

  •  A Row by any other Name:  With each tax-deductible donation, you’ll also have the opportunity to suggest a name for the new boat!  Perhaps you think it’s time we honored ‘Frank Kameny’, saw ‘The Barry’ once again on the waters of the Anacostia, or honored the victims of the recent Orlando nightclub tragedy with the name ‘The Pulse’.  All name suggestions are welcome!!  The Board will determine finalists, to be voted on by club members.

  •  Claim you Seat!!  To sweeten the deal, and allow you to leave a lasting impression, any individual or group/team who donates at least $2,500 will be recognized with a seat plaque.  So here's your chance Club Team!  Let's see what you've got, Comp Team!!  Step Up, 2016 Novice Team!!  From bow to stern, your favorite seat can be ‘yours’!!  Pledges must be paid by Sept. 7.

  •  The Finish Line:  Campaign ends Aug. 7, when results will be announced at our all-club row and potluck.
