DC Strokes medal at Masters Nationals

Members of DC Strokes Rowing Club earned a Silver Medal in the Men’s Open 8+ competition at the recent Masters Nationals rowing competition in Camden, NJ.

It was the largest U.S. rowing event ever, with more than 2,000 entries from 149 clubs. DC Strokes had 18 entries, and made it to the finals in eight events. Boats in four races missed qualifying for finals by less than 1 second.

Masters Nationals is an opportunity for rowers of all age groups (21 and up) from across the United States to compete for national championships in more than 200 categories, including Adaptive.

Since 2009, DC Strokes has earned 17 medals in the prestigious competition – 1 Gold, 5 Silver and 11 Bronze.

DC Strokes Rowing Club, the oldest LGBT rowing club in the world, provides competitive and recreational rowing opportunities in a safe and supportive environment for rowers of all skill levels.
